Ark Community Collective

Ark Community Collective is an ACNC-registered, not-for-profit organisation working to fulfil our mission of identifying gaps in the community services sector and providing innovative, person-centred services to meet those needs. Ark Community Collective operates independently of Ark Support Coordination, with separate governance and decision-making processes.

Current Ark Community Collective initiatives

  • Ark in the Kimberley

We're immersing ourselves within the East and West Kimberley and building an understanding of the challenges associated with actualising the NDIS in remote areas and consulting local stakeholders on how we can assist with this. We hope to help people access the NDIS and utilise their NDIS funding with local people and local businesses.

By establishing ongoing partnerships with communities and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, we can contribute to the incredible work already being done in the Kimberley. This includes developing remote communities' awareness and capabilities and implementing local disability support so that it's accessible to the people who need it.

  • Supporting Remote Communities

While we're best known for our Specialist Support Coordination and Therapeutic Programs, we are driven to use our skills and expertise as an organisation to create systemic change in the disability sector.

Navigating the NDIS can be challenging for people with disabilities in remote communities. We're working alongside local people to help people access the NDIS and utilise their allocated funding.

Based in various areas of Western Australia, including Kununurra, Broome, Perth, Margaret River and Bunbury, we also provide outreach to remote communities in the Kimberley region. We understand that every community is unique and local groups have specific community knowledge and resourcefulness that guide us in all the work we do.

  • Parent Support Group

We are developing a supportive program for parents of children with medically complex disabilities to build relationships and new peer networks while developing their skills and knowledge in various uniquely relevant areas. Our team facilitating this support group has lived this experience with children of their own. They know how having a child with a medically complex disability can be isolating and feel like being thrown into the deep end. This has driven them to create the network and program they wish they had.
